I’m Hilton Gumbys, a Member of the Legislative Council for South Australia.

I am a first-generation Australian, the son of a migrant and a refugee. I am also a proud unionist, former first-class Machinist and Fitter, and a strong advocate for South Australian workers and their families.

Having witnessed firsthand the decades-long decline in the priority of trades in favour of university and STEM pathways, I am incredibly excited to be part of a Labor government that is actively building technical colleges again, not only in the metropolitan area but also in the regions.

The Labor government is working hard so that everyone has a fair go, access to a good education, quality health services and opportunities to succeed.
